HBF I HBF Textiles I Gunlocke DC Showroom Grand Opening

Earlier this year HBF / HBF Textiles and Gunlocke teamed with Conant Architects and Michael Vanderbyle Design to re-imagine the legacy Gunlocke showroom at 1331 F St. The result is a bright and airy space separated by brands but united by a shared atrium reception space, inviting the visitor to experience both offerings as a singular furnishings solution.

The HBF side is stark and minimalistic with its wide open space and art gallery-esque feature walls adorned with full size images of their product designers. It’s a powerful design statement and intriguing to traverse from one to the next. Conversely and true to their heritage, Gunlocke is warm and inviting as their furniture vignettes are cozily positioned between wood lattice partitions creating a relaxed and comfortable space.

The evening’s party was a joint effort introducing the design community to their updated product and environment. Designers, reps, executives and guests mingled amidst Thievery Corporation styled grooves (Mina Music) and enjoyed a plentiful banquette of unusual tasty snacks and Pear Martini’s, anointed with a sprig of pine (Courtesy of Occasions Catering, led masterfully by Nancy Elena Coppola).
